GOVERNMENT

DEI has come under fierce scrutiny this past year, as conservative groups have sought to sue companies with DEI programs.

The Trump administration has banned it from the federal government; U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi also instructed the Department of Justice this week to “investigate, eliminate, and penalize illegal DEI” programs and activities in the private sector companies that receive federal funds.

Trump FCC Boss Declares All Racism In Broadband Deployment Magically Solved, Proclaims To End Agency’s Civil Rights Reforms So new FCC boss Brendan Carr has issued a statement saying he’s ending the FCC’s diversity initiatives, mothballing all their websites, disbanding the agency’s “digital discrimination taskforce,” and basically declaring the problem of racial discrimination in broadband effectively solved:

“As Chairman of the FCC, I have concluded that the work of the FCC’s Communications Equity and Diversity Council is complete.”

They recently deleted ‘inclusion and diversity’ language in latest filing

The statement changed from “As we strive to be Earth’s best employer, we focus
on investment and innovation, inclusion and diversity, safety, and engagement
to hire and develop the best talent.” to “We strive to be Earth’s best
employer.” The only reference to “diversity,” was in regard to product
categories, and matters related to “inclusion” concerned stock awards.

Google ditches DEI-hirigin goals and states DEI as a business risk in its latest 10-K filing.

They are reportedly changing course on its diversity initiatives, too

The company reportedly announced that it would "no longer set hiring targets to
improve representation in its workforce."

According to an internal memo viewed by Axios and verified by Ars, Meta's vice
president of human resources, Janelle Gale, told Meta employees that the shift
was due to "legal and policy landscape surrounding inclusion efforts in the
United States is changing."

Meta is dismantling DEI programs but tells investors it still wants “Cognitive Diversity”

Meta eliminates their DEI programs

MICROSOFT

As we enter our 50th year as a company, diversity and inclusion continue to be
critical to our mission: Empower every person and every organization on the
planet to achieve more.

lawsuits against Tesla, the electric car company has omitted all language
regarding minority workers and outreach to minority communities in its 10-K
filing with the SEC made January 29.

CONCLUSIONS?

According to Wikipedia, this is as today the definition of DEI in USA:

"...In the United States, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are
organizational frameworks that seek to promote the fair treatment and full
participation of all people, particularly groups who have historically been
underrepresented or subject to discrimination based on identity or disability.
These three notions (diversity, equity, and inclusion) together represent "three
closely linked values" which organizations seek to institutionalize through DEI
frameworks. The concepts predate this terminology and other variations sometimes
include terms such as belonging, justice, and accessibility."

Wikipedia’s definition for project 2025 states one of the goals is:

"Project 2025 opposes what it calls "radical gender ideology" and advocates that
the government "maintain a biblically based, social-science-reinforced
definition of marriage and family".[citation needed] To achieve this, it
proposes removing protections against discrimination on the basis of sexual or
gender identity, and eliminating provisions pertaining to diversity, equity, and
inclusion (DEI)—which it calls "state-sanctioned racism"—from federal
legislation. Federal employees who have participated in DEI programs or any
initiatives involving critical race theory might be fired."

"In the view of Project 2025, the Department of Justice (DOJ) has become "a
bloated bureaucracy with a critical core of personnel who are infatuated with
the perpetuation of a radical liberal agenda" and has "forfeited the trust" of
the American people due to its role in the investigation of alleged Trump–Russia
collusion. It must therefore be thoroughly reformed and closely overseen by the
White House, and the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) must
be personally accountable to the president."

"A DOJ reformed per Project 2025's recommendations would combat "affirmative
discrimination" or "anti-white racism", citing the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
Former Trump DOJ official Gene Hamilton argues that "advancing the interests of
certain segments of American society... comes at the expense of other Americans—
and in nearly all cases violates longstanding federal law." Therefore, the
DOJ's Civil Rights Division would "prosecute all state and local governments,
institutions of higher education, corporations, and any other private employers"
with DEI or affirmative action programs. Hamilton was also general counsel
for America First Legal, a Project 2025 partner organization."

Reading this it’s clear that the private companies are doing their best avoiding prosecution by the Department of Justice.

Robert Reich had this to say about project 2025 in August 2024

"A second Trump term would be more dangerous than the first — in part because of
something called Project 2025, a plan to extend Trump’s grip into every part of
your life."
