When Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022 many companies decided to leave Russia.

https://leave-russia.org/ is a source that lists companies and their current relation to Russia.

Not all companies on this list is as transparent as this and that gives reason to question their position in this matter. Until they have made it clear, using their services is up for debate.

One of the companies that is clear on it’s position is IKEA.

In an article from June 2022 they states that their factories and stores in Russia and Belarus will change owners or be shut down. Import and export with these countries is stopped. According to sources in Russia, IKEA sold out their stock in a couple of days and the closed shop.

To figure out what position a company have takes some effort. For instance, the product “Marabou Mjölkchoklad” is manufactured by Marabou, a company that is not listed. However, it’s parent company Mondelez is listed as still active in Russia. This claim should be available on their homepage. After checking it is not.

There is no mentioning the war in this press-release or in any of the up until present day. It is a good idea visiting the homepages of some of their owned brands to look for additional information.
